Esquel is located in the north-west of Chubut province, about 400 miles away from its capital city and 1,270 miles from Buenos Aires, at a latitude of 42º54'35" south and at a longitude of 71º18'38" west. Surrounded by ranges up to 6,000’ high, Esquel stands at 1,700’ m above sea level. And with its 32,000 inhabitants it is the largest town in the mountain area of Chubut.
In order to get to Esquel by bus, you have to go through Bariloche. |
