Independant Winter Expeditions
Enchanted Wood Tour
This adventure begins at the Altos del Valle Winter Center, a breeding and training center for sled dogs and also the starting point of the track, abut 12 miles from Ushuaia city. Upon reaching the center, the tour passes through the site and takes off on the trail (after receiving instructions on how to properly use the snow shoes). The tour goes deep into the majestic and snowy valleys, surrounded by the Andes mountains.
Length 3.5 hours
Seasonality Winter. It takes place under snow and low temperature conditions.
Requirements This tour is classified as low difficulty (Level I). It can be done by healthy people in good physical conditions.
Distances and incline Total length (round trip trekking) 2.5 miles. No major inclines are faced on the way.

Emerald Lagoon
This adventure begins at the Altos del Valle Winter Center, a breeding and training center for sled dogs and also the starting point of the track, about 12 miles from Ushuaia city. Upon reaching the center, the tour passes through the site and takes off on the trail (after receiving instructions on how to properly use the snowshoes). The trip continues for an hour along a semi-traversed path that leads to a glacial "amphitheatre," from which imposing and beautiful views of the Tierra Mayor and Carvajal Valleys can be seen. Surrounded by needle sharp mountains, the trip continues up along the Emerald River, its surface now completely frozen. When the trip culminates at the lagoon, the group has lunch, surrounded by the Albino Glacier, Las Torres, and the Cordón Toribio before heading back.
Length 5 hours. (4hs of trekking)
Seasonality Year-round. The information in the above description corresponds to winter time, when the area is covered in snow (June through September).
It takes place under snow and low temperature conditions.
Requirements This tour is classified as low difficulty (Level I). It can be done by healthy people in good physical conditions (according to the difficulties above mentioned).

White Bonfire
Leaving Ushuaia in the evening, this adventure begins at the Altos del Valle Winter Center, a breeding and training center for sled dogs and also the starting point of the trail, about 12 miles from Ushuaia city. Upon reaching the center, the tour passes through the site and takes off on the trail (after receiving instructions on how to properly use the snowshoes). Trekkers then go deep into the majestic and snowy valleys, surrounded by the Andes mountains, guided by the light of the moon and own lamps. Upon reaching the final destination, after a 20-minute trek, the group will enjoy a sizzling bonfire and a hearty dinner. Later at night, the ride back on dog-sleds tours the valley in the darkness, ultimately arriving at the Winter Center from which we'll return to Ushuaia.
Length 5 hours.

Requirements This adventure is classified as very easy. All that is required are proper winter clothes in order to face the low temperatures.

4WD Off-Road Lakes Tour
The trip leaves the hotel along National Road Nr. 3, heading for the lakes Escondido and Fagnano. It crosses the mountain ranges through the Garibaldi crossing, reaching Fagnano Lake through an old woodman's trail .
The trip skirts the lake until reaching a panoramic point, where it stops for a snack.
The tour then returns to Tierra Mayor Valley, where guests enjoy a barbecued patagonic lamb and choose from optional activities such as: snow cats, sledges pulled by husky dogs, cross country skiing, and ice skating, or just relax contemplating the great snowy valley from the cozy lodge.
